๐ซFirst Person Shooter
First Play2Earn experience in NFTWorld#1879
Before we start diving deep into the Play to Earn first person shooter in WRLDMind, we need to take a brief history lesson on voxel based & traditional first person shooters.
History
First person shooters inside Minecraft is nothing new. This has been tried and tested across various Minecraft servers and other voxel based games.
An example -
Ace of Spades was a 2012 first-person shooter, voxel-based sandbox indie video game developed by a single developer, and later published by Jagex. The game had become so enjoyable to play, it had peaked to around two million players. Checkout some of the gameplay here. Due to its use of voxel-based graphics and emphasis on block-building techniques, it was quickly labelled as "Minecraft with rifles". Safe to say they were crowned the first voxel based first person shooter. The gameplay brings a sense of excitement, teamwork, and adrenaline as you are navigating the map with 32 total players. Ace of Spades is no longer running as a handful of issues around the direction of the game development caused the community to dwindle away. Read more here.
First person shooters in general have been a massive success to say the least. From games like Battlefield, Call of Duty, and CS:GO - first person shooters have proven to be enjoyable yet competitive games to play across large player bases.
An example -
CS:GO has brought in around eleven million players per month.
Call of Duty is revamped yearly to generate around ~20 million sales yearly.
CS:GO & In-game Economy
The economy in CS:GO is a differentiator among FPS titles. The integration of the economy has made the game a huge success.
How does the CS:GO economy work?
The economy in CS:GO is a one-sided marketplace which, dependent on a playerโs choice and cash flow, dictates what equipment and weapon(s) will be present in any given round. The economy is designed to make every round in CS:GO important and provide either side an opportunity to gain/re-gain the advantage.
Each player will begin a match with $800 however during this first round you are only able to purchase pistols or armor. As the match progresses, youโll have more $ available to spend across a plethora of weapons and equipment. The cash you generate in a CSGO match is dependent on kills, round wins or losses, defends, and/or defuses. All of these actions result in a reward or potentially a penalization. The biggest cash flow impact comes from wins or losses of rounds.
WRLDMind First Person Shooter Details
Above we went through an overview of successful first person shooters, along with an example of a successful voxel based first person shooter. Let's dive a bit deeper now into why those talking points were important. WRLDMind is building out a voxel based first person shooter inside NFTWorld#1879 with five separate maps / arenas.
The first person shooter will have an experience very similar to CS:GO and maps themed based on WRLDMind neighborhoods. The inspiration for the arenas has been lifted from various fan favorite Call Of Duty, and CS:GO maps.
The gameplay in regards to weapons, animations, maps and movement will be fairly similar to CS:GO. On top of the playable mechanics, the in-game FPS marketplace will mimic a very similar economy as well.
